AONB Written Word Competition

I’m aware that I’ve grumbled in the past about poetry competitions, but I’m pleased to be involved in this one as a judge – it’s on the Northumbrian coast as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I am from Warkworth, which is only about a mile inland from the coast and I am proud of our Blue Flag beaches. My co-judges are the Newcastle author Dan Smith and my fellow Nine Arches Press confere Tony Williams, who teaches Creative Writing at Northumbria University. There are three categories – 7-11 year olds, 12-16 year olds and adults. The prize is open to all, free to enter and you can submit either a piece of prose or a poem. You have until the end of August to be inspired and get writing. Good luck! Here are the details:
